Wholesale Suppliers that offer websites
posted by Admin on June 22nd, 2008 under Wholesale Dropshippers
It always amazes me that some so called wholesale suppliers can offer a website along with their service. It seems that the wholesale supplier is more interested in the hosting and subscription fees than the price of the products they sell.
If you look at the situation from their standpoint, it’s pretty good. They are making money on selling you a membership to their wholesale club, they are making money for hosting your site, and they are making money whenever your website sells a product. That means they’ll make money three times on you by the time you sell your first product. Depending on how much markup is on your products, they are probably making more money than you on that single product.
The problem with these companies is they are selling you the same thing they have sold to many other people even though its changed up a bit, it’s the same thing. The same products and images of products, and basically the same pricing for those products. That means that the products you are selling is on other websites like yours with very similar pricing. Possibly up into the thousands of websites that offer the same thing that you do at basically the same pricing. What is going to make your store stand out? Odds are by the time you make your first sale, the so called wholesale supplier will already make their money in the deal and anything you sell is just more profit for them.
Now there are web design companies that offer ecommerce solutions and can set up your website and build it just the way you like it. This type of solution for your business is what you need if you can’t do it yourself. The type of website package I’m talking about is a wholesale membership package with a website, membership fees, etc. If the sales pitch is something like this:
“We’ll set up your website for you, set up all hosting details, and add products and images for only $199 plus $24.99 per month hosting and wholesale fees…”
The problem with that is the fees and the fact that they will charge you every month for a “membership” to a wholesale supplier. You shouldn’t have to pay money to spend money with a wholesale supplier. Beware of these types of deals. You may end up like thousands of other websites selling the exact same products for the exact same price and only muster a couple sales per month.
Find Wholesale Dropship Sources
posted by Admin on June 22nd, 2008 under Wholesale Dropshippers
Finding wholesale dropship sources is one of the least fun things to do. After you wade through all the middle men and scams that are out today, you still really don’t know if they are legit or not. The fact is you will need to use a try and see method with most of these companies, but there are a few things you can do to help with your choice of a legit dropshipper or wholesaler.
Do the background checks. Look for reviews or comments on the company. Find your local search engine and plug in there name and see what comes up. Odds are, if someone is dissatisfied with their experience, its on the web somewhere. If you are thinking the a local wholesale company may be your way to go. Consider talking to people that deal with them. Ask questions such as how long have they been in business? Be weary of your answers because people believe that you may cut into their profits if they divulge too much information.
Research each company before you spend any money. If you think you’ve found a company that you can do business with, make a few orders and see if everything turns out okay before you start selling to live customers.
